Service Shop

Service Shop

My bike's handling has been very unstable for the past month or so, especially when on turn you can feel it resisting hard. Sadly my motorbike isn't popular so spare part are sparse so I need to make sure which part is broken or otherwise responsible. After asking several people including a mechanic (who don't want to work on my bike because he deem it a waste of time), I confirm it's the steering head bearing, which I then bought the parts online.

Fast forward to today, I finally have the time to go to a service shop to replace the broken steering head bearing, something I should do weeks ago actually. I go to the nearest shop recommended by one of my acquaintance since there's not many willing to work on that particular bike, only few mechanic familiar and can work on it.

The mechanic showed me the old bearing and oh boy, it's fractured so bad you can almost say it was split in two. After about an hour they finally finished replacing the broken bearing but then I remember I have to change engine oil too. Another 15 minutes and it's done, for real this time.

I paid then soon hit the road. Had a hard time at first since I got too accustomed to the steer resisting it feels too light now, but by the time I got back to the office it's all good.
